Stay offline!

Social media is where self-confidence goes to die or . . . thrive depending on your expectations. Practice self-love by not comparing yourself to your followers or friends and try to remember, people are at different stages of their lives. We all battle life’s struggles without them ever being presented on your social feed, so don’t curb your reality to fit the perfected narrative that others have allowed you to see. Create your own happiness even if no one is there to witness it!

Create Virtual Cards.

Remember when you were in grade school, and the night before your Valentine class celebration, you wrapped up a special piece of candy and a love note for your crush? (Just me? Yikes.) Why did we ever stop doing that? Well since we can’t gather during this potpourri, let yourself feel like a giddy kid again and send out some virtual love to your closest friends or family members. Shit, maybe even shoot your shot with your crush (I know you’ve been stalking that page!).

Learn a new recipe.

Now I get it you’ve probably been doing this the whole PEMDAS but I bet you have something saved that probably cost a little extra coin! Just do it; treat yourself to a well-balanced meal (or your favorite comfort foods) that make this day even more special! Don’t worry about the calories, micros, and/or macros, just enjoy your meal and remain guilt free.

Show love to small businesses.

Now let's talk about desserts, the ones you can actually consume that is 😉. Make buying your favorite box of chocolates or decadent strawberries even more special this year by finding a local business selling your favorite treats. Grant yourself the opportunity to indulge, order something you've never tried before, and explore your community by giving back to the people that make home feel just as sweet.

Practice Gratitude.

In all seriousness the pandemic is a hell of time to be living in. The stressors seem to get tougher and the feeling of uncertainty is settling in deeper each day. Give yourself a moment to sit with the fact that you are doing the best you can. Take the time to look at what you've done successfully or survived by journaling your thoughts or simply saying them out loud. Remind yourself that millions of people are experiencing this with you and find comfort in that community. And last but not least, remember you’re still here and it’s for a reason.
